WCC Penang Interns are fundraising for Women's Centre for Change

Invest in a future free from violence and abuse.

My Story

We are a group of seven interns working at Women’s Centre for Change (WCC). WCC Penang is a non-profit tax exempt organisation that works to eliminate violence against women and children and to promote gender equality. We are passionate about these issues so we decided to start a social media fundraising campaign called 20 Days of Truth! 

By making a donation for the 20 Days of Truth fundraising campaign you are enabling WCC Penang to:

·     Provide immediate assistance through counselling, legal advice, and provision of temporary shelter to women and children experiencing crisis.

·     Continue outreach programs that aim to:

      o   Educate boys and girls about their rights

      o   Educate children, teachers, hospital staff, and the community on the issues of child sexual abuse, domestic violence, and rape

      o   Teach teens about respect and positive relationships

·     Create awareness of women’s rights in the home, workplace, and society at large.

·     Promote societal and legal changes for the protection and betterment of women and children in our society.


Our goals are to:
·      Create awareness about cyberbullying, domestic violence, child sexual abuse, and rape
·      Raise RM2,000 to enable WCC Penang to continue their impactful work (Goal now expanded to rm10,000 thanks to your generous donations!)
·      Increase the number of likes on the WCC Penang Facebook page by 1,000

Your donations will be used for WCC's Client Emergency Fund. Very often survivors of violence have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. WCC’s Client Emergency Fund offers assistance to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, so that they are able to rebuild their lives. Funds are used to provide living expenses, pay for flat deposits and transportation for women until they can fully regain control of their lives.
