Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR)
Hong Kong Dog Rescue is an organization I want to support because of their "NO KILL" mission. In Hong Kong, if a stray dog got caught, or that it is surrendered by its owner to the AFD or SPCA, there is a high chance that the dogs will end up being put down (euthansized/killed) - especially if the dog is older (not a puppy) or if the dog is not a pure breed and often considered 'not right for adoption'. Some will also be put down if no one adopts it over a period of time to make space for other incoming dogs. HKDR promises not to kill ANY dogs... even if no one comes to adopt them they will still take care of them for the rest of their life until they pass. I found this to be a very honorable mission and something that requires quite a lot of RESOURCES to achieve. Being a volunteer dog-walker, I have witnessed how these dogs are being well taken care of (they are fed very well and are given the walks they need). I would therefore invite you to join me by donating to support the dogs... buying dog foods, medications, etc. THANK YOU SO MUCH in advance~

From HKDR FB:Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR)2014年11月12日 · Pocket, 4 years old tiny yorkie @ Ap Lei Chau Homing CentrePocket came to us at weekend went to Acorn on Monday to have a health check which included x-Rays on both back legs. One of the knees is seriously out of place and will definitely need surgery to fix it, but the other knee is fine.In addition to his broken leg, we found that Pocket has also had his ears cut off. Whoever had this adorable and tiny little boy before had clearly tortured him. Even so, Pocket is the sweetest dog who still loves everyone. We think he deserves a medal for bravery as well as the best home for the rest of his life.Story of Pinot who is now a happy and confident boy. His sister Grenache is also from HKDR too. Grenache is 15 years old now. She was abandon 4years ago. Now she is the diva of the family We would like to raise more money to save dogs like Pinot & Grenache

I also have a sponsorship form in the office if you prefer to drop cash / cheque :) Your donation means a lot to us and thousands of homeless dogs in Hong Kong! *All cheques should be made payable to Hong Kong Dog Rescue. About HKDR Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) was initially established to save dogs and puppies from inevitable death at the Government’s AFCD Centres by taking them out and finding them new homes and expanded to include education and lobbying for changes in the outdated Animal Welfare Laws. Up to 15,000 dogs are ‘destroyed’ each in Hong Kong simply because they have no home. To date HKDR has found new homes for around 7,000 lucky dogs and puppies, which is a lot of lives saved but still a small percentage of the total number needing help. HKDR’s aim is to increase the number of dogs saved while decreasing the number of dogs abandoned and eventually killed. They run 2 homing facilities in Hong Kong, a huge one in Taipo (where my 2 sponsored girls, Giselle and Cheryl are based) and a smaller one in Ap Lei Chau, with cute puppies waiting to find their forever homes.
