Every four years, IFES World Assembly brings together students, staff, faculty, and board members from around the world. This time, we are excited to have Perkantas Indonesia hosting the event. The theme for this assembly is 'Tabah dan Tangguh: Witnesses in the University and Beyond'. We will journey through the book of Psalms to hear what it means to be resilient witnesses of Christ amidst the challenges we face in the world today.John Criswell, Director of this year's World Assembly, explains: "World Assembly isn't just another conference; it is a unique opportunity to reconnect with our global fellowship, reengage with our vision and values, and recommit to our shared mission of building students into communities of disciples."God has used this gathering in remarkable ways to advance gospel mission and ministry in the world’s universities. I have been working for IFES since 2016. IFES’ work involves taking the gospel out to university students. I joined IFES because I want to be a part of this ministry. I see it as my duty as a Christian to use my expertise to support different areas of the ministry. In August 2019, I had the opportunity to witness the efforts of IFES staff workers and students in sharing the gospel of Christ to other students across university campuses globally when I attended the East Asia Graduate Conference (EAGC) in Japan. It moved me to see how students from countries which are in conflict with one another, or which have had a history of conflict, were able to come together in Christ and embrace one another. It was truly remarkable. I want to help raise funds to enable staff workers and students from Asia to attend World Assembly 2023 in Jakarta. For many of them, this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to come together with other colleagues and students from around the world and learn from God’s Word. Most of these staff workers work so hard to bring students to Christ, that this would be a time of refreshment for them. For students, many of them face all sorts of persecution or are ostracized when they choose to follow Christ, and this will be a time to make meaningful connections. As a student and staff of FES Malaysia, I had benefited greatly from being present in gatherings with communities beyond what I am familiar with. As my exposure to the global IFES fellowship grew through my serving alongside the World Assembly team, I see the value of such tangible reminders of what it means to work towards being the Body of Christ. My prayer is that World Assembly 2023 will be a space for communal lament, healing and hope. Staff and students of many movements have gone through much discouragement, grief and despair over the past few years. The have remained resilient but are in much need of encouragement; to know that they are not alone! Your contribution will go into supporting staff and students from Asia to be able to gather together with the larger fellowship in World Assembly.

I have been a part of the IFES network for a long time – as a student through FES Singapore and now with my involvement with FES and GCF in Singapore. As such, I’ve had the opportunity to witness the efforts of IFES staff workers and students in sharing the gospel of Christ to other students across university campuses globally. I had the opportunity to witness the coming together of the IFES family on a regional level, when I attended the EARC way back 2000. It enabled me to gain even more insight into how God uses the student ministry to get the gospel out. Just listening to students from this region share their experiences of Jesus was an experience I will never forget. It’s exciting to think that there will be a global gathering of staff workers and students when IFES’ World Assembly 2023 happens in Jakarta. I’m looking forward to hearing from students and staff workers about their journeys of faith, as we come together to study God’s Word, sing to Him, and pray together. This gathering in Asia will be a once in the lifetime chance for many of the staff workers and students from this region to attend World Assembly. I am trying to raise funds so that many more of these staff workers who labour so tirelessly in Christ, as well as students who seek to give their lives to Jesus, can attend World Assembly. Many of them are unable to raise funding on their own because of the persecution they face. They work in such tough terrains and this gathering is really one that will be sustaining to them as it will feed them with the Word and community they need. Please help me to make a difference to the lives of these staff workers and students in Christ by making a gift towards this fundraiser. Please support me in raising funding for staff workers and students around Asia to attend IFES’ World Assembly 2023 in Jakarta.I have been working with IFES since 2019. Through the efforts of many staff workers and students, IFES shares the gospel of Christ to students across university campuses globally. All of us as Christians have a part to play in spreading the good news of Jesus.  I do my part in supporting our global ministry by helping to raise funding for various initiatives of our fellowship. World Assembly is a gathering of the entire IFES family, which happens once every four years. I was granted the opportunity to attend World Assembly in 2019 because of faithful donors such as yourselves. It opened my eyes to the way the gospel was being spread around the world. It was so exciting to hear from students from many different lands, hearing the impact of the gospel in their lives and it was equally mind blowing to hear about staff and students who work tirelessly to make Jesus known. I was struck because of the diversity present in one place. We were a gathering of many tribes, tongues and nations and we learnt about God, prayed, and sang songs of praise and thanksgiving to Him in different languages. World Assembly 2023 is happening in Jakarta from 2 – 10 August 2023. I am trying to raise funds so that more staff workers and students from this region can attend. For many, it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity and it is vital for them to come together to be encouraged by fellow brothers and sisters in Christ over God’s Word. Many of them work in countries where it is hard to be a Christian, let alone share the gospel. Many of them face persecution, are isolated and are unable to raise their own funding because of the challenges within their countries.  because of where they are based, and this coming together as the body of Christ will be something that sustains them through periods when they continue to work away from one another.Please help me to make a difference to many of my brothers and sisters in Christ by making a gift towards this fundraiser. Please support me in raising funding for staff workers and students around Asia to attend IFES’ World Assembly 2023 in Jakarta. I have been working with IFES since 2016. In a nutshell, we support the work of our colleagues all around the world in taking the gospel of Christ to students globally. As a Christian, I believe that all of us have a role to play in getting the gospel out. I do my part through supporting our global ministry, especially through technology, as well as helping to raise funding for various initiatives of our fellowship. World Assembly is a gathering of the entire IFES family, which happens once every four years. It is a magnificent event, where staff and students from every tribe, tongue, and nation, get to meet in person and build upon friendships, some of which last a lifetime It is also a chance where staff and students are renewed in the gospel and to speak into each other’s lives as fellow believers coming together to be encouraged and grow in Christ. This year’s World Assembly will be in Jakarta from 2 – 10 August. I am trying to help raise funds so that more of my colleagues and students will be able to attend. Many of them, especially those within this region, are isolated because of where they are based, and this coming together as the body of Christ will be something that sustains them through periods when they continue to work away from one another.
