Shelter Home for Children
Cor Blimey has been planning to do a fundraising activity since 2019 with a home which nurtures underprivileged children. However due to COVID-19, we were forced to delay the activity to 2021 instead. By 2021, we have finally decided to seal the deal with SHELTER, Home for underprivileged children. Their mission coincides with Cor Blimey’s mission to help these children and hope we can give them a chance for a better life. Our mission is to raise RM 40,000 for this home and the funds will be used to assist SHELTER in providing for the children’s education, food and any home expenses needed.We first met with SHELTER back in 2019 sharing the same mission to help underprivileged to have a better chance in life. Cor Blimey discovered this home through online research when the company decided to conduct our first fundraising event. We then met with the management team to discuss on activities and targets to achieve our mission together from 2021 onwards, hoping to make a difference. Mostly, SHELTER needs financial support but Cor Blimey made it a mission to also offer any volunteer hours and dry food donations should SHELTER needs.

My team and I are doing a group project as our assignment. Shelter Home has recommended a program which is called 'Virtual Gift Box'.The Virtual Gift Box is a program which anyone of any ages can join. A person drops their loose change or extra change into a container daily for a period of time on their personal capacity, eg. over a month and then donate it to Shelter Home.This fundraiser is to help Shelter Home For Children.The funds will be used to buy food and daily necessities for the children at the Shelter Home.This fundraiser is held until 19th of July.Our goal is:To rescue and protect children from the trauma of physical and sexual abuse, extreme neglect, being abandoned and being a victim or witness of domestic violence.To help the children overcome their initial trauma and restore self-acceptance, dignity and their trust in humanity by giving them unconditional love, care, and an education.To unite the children with their families where possible.To reinforce the above by regular follow-up so that they can become useful citizens.
