Yellow House, a local grassroots NGO, has been working with marginalised, vulnerable communities since 2011. In order to have maximum impact, Yellow House thoroughly assesses the needs of these communities to match them with existing opportunities. Over the years, Yellow House has touched the lives of thousands of beneficiaries and in the process have developed a deep understanding of the needs of these communities who often rely on daily/weekly wages to make ends meet.With the pandemic outbreak happening around the world, Project S.O.U.P aims to ensure that there are food on the table for more than 200 underprivileged families, including the elderly and refugees. We will start delivering care packages to families in Ampang, and gradually expand our support to those in need in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Our aim is to ensure that everyone has food on their table - one family at a time.Funds raised will be used to send monthly care packages to more than 200 families. Care packages include basic necessities and food.[Update @ 15 April 2020]Thank you for your generous support to date!As the MCO continues to be extended, more and more families are reaching out to us for help. Abdi is a 2 year old Somalian boy who is in need of a liver transplant and needs urgent attention. He also has another younger sister who is 1 month old, and his parents are in need of support for his surgery. I first met Abdi through his dad, as he was looking to be a chef with PichaEats to support his family. Abdi's mother is currently looking after him and his sister at home.Currently, he is only depending on monthly medication and his condition restricts him from breathing normally. The doctor only gives Abdi months to live without the transplant. This surgery will save his life and give him a second chance to grow up.Dr Hartini Zainudin and Syed Azmi are also currently working on this case right now and we would appreciate all the help and support we can get.

In 2018, Victor Consunji and Enrico Menichetti ran the extra mile for the benefit of children in need by joining the 2018 Marathon Des Sables in Morocco. Coined 'the toughest foot race on earth', the race pushed them to the limits. My boyfriend Mon, 33, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma. Stage 4 is the most advanced stage of lymphoma. His survival depends on at least 6 rounds of chemotherapy. Each round will cost ₱100,000 Philippine Pesos ($1,736.67 USD). The health system in the Philippines cannot cover the cost of his treatment so we are trying to raise money from people who are willing to help.We both work remote jobs supporting American companies. I am really hoping that anyone who has worked with people like us in a similar way might feel compelled to help. Mon's mother also dedicated her working life as a nurse to Australia's health system and is now retired in the Philippines. Over five days, I will be hiking with 70 friends and colleagues over 70km and gaining 2,000m in elevation to raise awareness and funds for mental health charities. This cause is deeply personal to us, and we invite you to support us in any way you can. Throughout the 100km journey, we will be cut off from modern comfort , including the necessity of the internet, to focus on personal connections and be honest in facing our own struggles. Joining us, apart from the 70 strong colleagues, will be Heather Fisher - World Cup winner, Olympian & mental health ambassador! She has represented England at multiple World Cups, Six Nations Championships and many more. She is a champion in raising awareness in mental health, and her personal resilience and dedication have made her an inspiring figure both as an athlete and a mental health ambassador!Mental health is crucial to overall well-being, yet often overlooked. Unfortunately, over the years I have lost friends to depression and other deadly mental health issues, it is never an easy experience for families and friends, especially when we all have the question of "what if I've answered that call?", "what if I gave them a call?" and many other "what ifs".
