Muhammad Izzuan

Hello everyone

With a humble heart, I would like to raise funds to buy my mother a new Bariatrik wheelchair and to build a home for our family to shelter in.

Home for our hearts

We come from an underprivileged family, therefore we do not have a permanent place to live. With the very high cost of living, I can only afford to rent a small house with two bedrooms and one bathroom.

I am also taking care of my disabled mother, along with my wife and our four children (6 dependents in total). Unfortunately, our small rented house, with stairs and limited space, is not suitable for my mother, who uses a wheelchair.

I’ve had to rent a separate, affordable home in a rural area of Pahang for her, as rental options there are more suitable for her needs.

Our family relies solely on my modest income as a government contract worker, and I cannot afford to buy a home to support everyone under one roof. My mother can no longer work, my father passed away 37 years ago, I have no siblings, and my wife is a housewife, taking care of our young children.

I have previously applied for government housing assistance, but my small income has led banks to reject my housing loan application.

Therefore, I humbly seek help from generous individuals to help us build a home, allowing us to live under one roof with our beloved mother.

Why We Need a House

  • We still do not have our own home or permanent residence.
  • We need a more suitable house for my mother, my wife, and my four children.
  • My mother needs a home where she can move around easily with her wheelchair.
  • She cannot live in a house with stairs.
My mother needs to live with our family to make it easier for us to take care of her needs and to reduce travel costs when visiting her in the village.

Wheelchair for my Mom

I also raising funds to get a new wheelchair for my mom. She's been using the same old wheelchair for about 10 years, and it's just not working for her anymore.

She has been on her own for 37 years since my dad passed away in a tragic accident. Mom is disabled and can’t walk due to Osteoarthritis in her knees. She also has high blood pressure, a urinary tract infection, and Cellulitis in her legs.

Since she can’t walk, she can no longer work and depends on a wheelchair to get around. We bought her a wheelchair about 10 years ago, but it’s old and some parts are broken. It’s also not the right size, as she is larger, causing painful chafing on her thighs. Sometimes, she must lie down all day because the chafing wounds hurt too much.

Mom urgently needs a new, larger wheelchair suitable for someone with obesity. Unfortunately, larger wheelchairs (bariatric wheelchairs) are very expensive and unavailable in Malaysia. We’d have to order one from overseas, but the cost is too high for us. That’s why I’m trying to raise funds online and hope for help to get her this wheelchair. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Why does mom need a new wheelchair?

  • Mom is dealing with Osteoarthritis, a type of knee pain, and she can’t walk like she used to.
  • Mom's wheelchair is old, and some parts are broken. It makes her feel unsafe and makes it hard for her to move around.
  • Mom is a bigger person and obese, so the current wheelchair doesn’t work for her. She needs a special wheelchair designed for obese people, called a Bariatric Wheelchair.
  • The wheelchair she’s using now causes chafing on her thighs, and the pain from that makes it hard for her to keep using it.

Why I'm asking for donations?

  • I’m my mom’s only child, so it’s my responsibility to take care of her. Unfortunately, I can’t afford all her needs because I have a low income and also have to take care of my four kids.
  • Mom can’t work because she’s unable to walk like she used to.
  • Our monthly expenses are tied up with utility bills, medication, and high rent.
  • The cost of buying a Bariatric Wheelchair is high, and we can’t afford it or have any savings.
  • Mom’s condition is getting worse, and she needs this wheelchair urgently.
  • And the most important reason is that I love her so much. She’s an amazing person!

Your kindness and contribution would mean the world to our family.
