As everyone may know by now through International and local newscasts, typhoon Ursula, has cut a wide swath of destruction on Western and Northern Iloilo last Christmas season. Which devastated hopes to some of our kababayans who lost their Families and houses due to the unpredictable nature disaster. Also, followed by the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that left their heart a broken Christmas. To date local officials of Northern Iloilo (Capiz, balasan, batad, estancia) estimate the death not less than 40 casualties from typhoon not to mention the earthquake as well. As search and rescue teams reach areas that previously were inaccessible because of Flooding and landslides, this number is expected to increase. Due to damage to infrastructure, houses that are no longer available to live within. Power and communication lines have been cut off. Thousands of families have been rendered homeless without Food and clean water to drink, Including clothes & medicine supplies run out. But the full scale and magnitude of typhoon Ursula and the said earthquake davastating impact to lives, communities & properties seem immeasurable. On behalf of our fellow Ilonggos people.
