THE Kuala Lumpur Rat Race® has long been regarded as a must-attend event for Corporate Malaysia, as evident in its 13th year running since its inaugural event back in 2000. This year's Kuala Lumpur Rat Race®, scheduled for Tuesday, 25 September 2012, will call upon Corporate Malaysia to don their running shoes for charity.
Bursa Malaysia and The Edge are once again co-organisers of this event, with Bursa Malaysia's foundation arm, Yayasan Bursa Malaysia returning as host. The collected funds will be channeled to 20 selected beneficiaries via Yayasan Bursa Malaysia and this will enable participating companies to enjoy tax exemption benefits.
The Race will cover 4.5 kilometres through the commercial heart of Kuala Lumpur, starting and finishing at the grounds of Bursa Malaysia. A one-kilometre race for CEOs will also be held simultaneously on that day.
Do not miss out on this unique experience of running in your work attire and carrying office accessories such as mobile phones, PDAs, notebooks or briefcases.
Running shoes of course, are allowed. You are encouraged to highlight your organisation's corporate identity creatively through your team's attire during the Race. By taking part in the Race, representatives from your organisation will have the opportunity to play their roles as CSR citizens, whilst portraying a positive image for your company.
As introduced in 2010, companies that are sending in a team to run in the Main Race can now send two participants to run in the CEO Race category. Both participants must be C-level executives (such as CEO, MD, CFO, CIO, etc.) and at least one of the participants must be female. We hope that this will encourage more female C-level executives to participate in the CEO Race.
