815% – The percentage increase in the number of autism cases registered with JKM (Social Welfare Department) over the past 10 years. Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder that affects brain development and impacts an individual’s ability to communicate, socialise, and learn like other children. Autism is a learning difficulty that cannot be cured, but it can be mitigated with the right support. With your support and assistance in this blessed month, we can change the future of 90 children with autism at the IDEAS Autism Centre.

My Story

IDEAS Autism Centre is inviting you to collaborate in our Yearly Ramadan Campaign to support autistic children from low income households aged 3 to 14. Established in 2012 and founded by YAM Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, IAC provides programmes including individualised speech therapy and various therapies such as play therapy, hippotherapy, and hydrotherapy, tailored to different age groups and locations. The program emphasises individualised plans, professional staff, family involvement, progress monitoring, sensory-friendly environments, data collection, outreach, and potential transportation assistance.

In our Nilai centre, we currently have 34 underprivileged children aged between 3 and 9 years old. In our Rawang centre, there are a total of 56 underprivileged children, with 40 of them falling within the 3 to 9 age range, while the remaining 16 students are 10 years or older.

To address a growing need, we are opening a new center at Bayu Beach Resort, Port Dickson. This effort is in response to the closure of the only existing autism center in the area, which left 20 autistic children with nowhere to go. Families in the region could not afford the costs, and this new center aims to provide affordable and accessible care for these children.

Your contributions will not only support our current operations but also help establish and sustain this vital new center for the Port Dickson community.
