My Story
Our mission is to build and sustain beautiful homes and provide our children with long term, high quality education. We strive to recreate a loving family, a sense of belonging and strong identity/self esteem. We do this by making sure our staff on the ground has the highest moral standard and share our love and passion for the cause.
We encourage our kids to compete on the basis of their intellect but more importantly on the basis of their character. They all go to public schools so they learn how to integrate with the larger community. We provide after school private tutoring to enhance their education and give them a competitive edge. We plan to increase our orphan sponsorship from 1,000 today to 100,000 within 1 years.
We were able to mobilize the diverse talents in our community and reached many important milestones without any paid staff. As we grew globally, we had to hire and develop our staff to ensure that we consistently deliver high-quality work. Our volunteers consist of professionals and executives, stay-home moms, retirees, and students, all driven by the same dream: to help as many orphans as we possibly can. We are blessed to have so many individuals who are devoting their time, efforts, and talents to make a positive impact on the lives of our children.
We currently have 34 kids in our home and 6 kids going to College in another city. The annual operation cost is $60K or about $1000/child/year that includes the cost for food, uniform, shoes, books, backpack, toiletries, and other living expenses. We are able to run the home at such a low cost because we receive significant in-kind donations locally and the free medical cost for all our children.
Our goal is to send all our kids to College once they finish high school. For those who are not interested in attending College, we will help set them up for vocational training. We are also planning to bring some of our brightest students to study in the U.S./overseas once we are able to secure sponsorship.
