and are fundraising for Oasis Internatonal School Kuala Lumpur - Students Selected Causes

My Story

At Oasis International School, our read-a-thon is an opportunity for our students to impact their community and nation by raising money for charity based on the number of minutes they read. Here’s how your child can participate in the fundraiser:
  • Using the Operation Impact donor sheet, ask family, neighbors, and friends to sponsor them and record their contact information.
    • Sponsors can pledge to give a certain amount per hour read or a fixed amount.
  • From December 2-9, help your child record the number of minutes read each day at home and at school using the recording sheet provided by the classroom teacher.
  • At the end of the read-a-thon, we will contact each sponsor with the total number of minutes your child read, and a link to donate their pledged amount.
All donations will go to this year’s charities:
1. T.A.S.K  
  • An independent, all-volunteer organization that serves the homeless and hungry predominantly in the Klang Valley. They provide over 3,000 meals a week to the communities in need.
2. Salvation Army
  • An organization that strives to meet the physical needs of the underprivileged in the community by providing basic necessities like food and clothing, residential homes, family support services, day cares, tuition centres, a refugee help centre and emergency relief services.
3. The Peace Education Center
  • A non-profit, non-governmental organization based in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Their mission is to provide education, shelter, and a high standard of living for approximately 40 refugee children.
