16th Kuala Lumpur Company Boys’ Brigade

What is the Boys’ Brigade?
The Boys' Brigade (BB) is the world's first uniformed youth organisation. The idea for this interdenominational Christian organisation was conceived by William Alexander Smith, to combine drill and fun activities with Christian values. The BB is recognised by the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (Ministry of Education) as a school's extra co-curricular activity. BB is also an affliated member of Majlis Belia Malaysia and Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM).

How does the Boys’ Brigade work?
The BB movement in Malaysia is made of more than 100 companies in different geographical areas. Members are divided into different sections of the Company.
  • Pre-Junior Section (ages 5 -8)
  • Junior Section (ages 9 – 11)
  • Senior Section (ages 12 – 19)
Members are supervised by a group of volunteer officers, many of whom were Members themselves.

What do we do at the Boys’ Brigade?
The Brigade’s weekly activities range from Bible study, drill, games, brass band and a badge work syllabus that trains the members in various aspects of physical, social, educational and spiritual growth.

In addition, companies also organise special programmes from time to time to provide Members with an enjoyable and educational time.
