Established in 1958, the Moulmein Church of Christ (MMCOC) is registered as a charity (UEN: S78SS0030C) under the Charities Unit, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). Besides being a vibrant place of worship for people who seek God, MMCOC seeks to extend God's love and compassion to everyone.
The first of our community services was established in 2000 when three of our leaders who shared a vision for family education in Singapore established the Centre for Fathering (CFF - http://fathers.com.sg/). You may have heard about “Eat with your Family” and “Dads for Life” movements that we have championed through CFF. We also established the Friends of the Disabled Society (FDS - www.fds.org.sg) in 2001. And we have just begun Heartbeat Singapore. Through these efforts, we have reached more than 1.5 million people through workshops, seminars, camps, and interviews on TV and radio. Hearts have been touched, lives have been mended, and families have been reconciled. The Singapore Government has even recognized our work.
After more than a decade of praying, planning and discerning, the Church embarked on a journey of faith in January 2015 to reconstruct our building. The old building was modified from a pre-World War II house, and no longer meet today's building and safety codes. The new building, scheduled to be completed in January 2017, will yield twice as much usable space and will enable the church to serve even more effectively in years to come.
Our members and friends have already pledged more than three-quarters of the funds needed for the reconstruction project. We need to raise another $300,000. Your help today will bless generations to come!
