KALINGA DAY CARE CENTER INC.

Kalinga Day Care Center Inc. (KDCC)  in Parang, Marikina was established by Institute for Development and Services/IDES. It is a Non-Government Organization aimed at empowering communities through basic education particularly Nursery to Kinder 2.

In 1987, KDCC was opened by a Franciscan nun and the volunteer teachers to help members of Labor Unions and Political Organizations in Marikina specifically members of the Labor Union in Fortune Cigarette Company; that while the member-parents are still at picket, rallies or other progressive activities to forward their democratic rights, KDCC will take care and look after of their kids.

Teacher Precy Lira envisioned KDCC to nurture the young minds of the children of the politically organized parents in the community so to continue the fight of their parents and to national liberation.

At present, KDCC is still true to its orientation; it remained genuine to the purpose of education--Mass Oriented since it advances low-cost and economical tuition fee, Patriotic as it press on nationalistic and Filipino values, Scientific as the education it provides to the children under her care is based on a thorough, comprehensive and systematic curriculum to guarantee a young Filipino leader capable of contributing to nation building in their own little ways.

The NGO still looks after the holistic development of a child put under its compassionate care after 30 years of service.
