Fundraising for Subramaniam Krishnan

Subramaniam Krishnan lost his Voice

Any form of Cancer does not choose its victims, be it lung, liver, colon, breast cancer etc. Cancer can attack anyone regardless of age or gender or your lifestyle even when you exercise and follow a healthy diet. It is very sad for Cancer patients when they are confirmed having cancer.  Their world turned dark, falling into depression, and feeling loss of hope.  We are all aware that once you are diagnosed with Cancer, it sounded like a death sentence.  Depending on what stage of cancer of each patient, some are given 3-6 months to live. Cancer patients’ health status is likely to deteriorate due to radiotherapy and later chemotherapy, being in pain constantly, no appetite to eat and trying their very best to fight against Cancer. What will happened in a family when the main breadwinner is diagnosed with Cancer? Let us look at Subramaniam, age 37, self-employed as an electrician must stop work. Diagnosed with Throat Cancer (Ca Larynx) Stage 3, had his vocal box removed.  He will not be able to talk normally as an artificial voice box has replace his vocal. Just after his throat operation, he had 16 of his bad tooths extracted before he can proceed for his radiotherapy.  Doctor at Kuala Lumpur Hospital has assigned 30 radiotherapy treatments and currently he is waiting for the Hospital to contact him for the 1st treatment before end of November 2023.  With his tooths extracted, he can only take porridge and liquid diet from Nutren as he needs to build up his immune system. Subramaniam has a young family of 3 young children from ages of 2, 5 & 11 and his wife as a housewife. Staying at a rented property and needing expenses for his medical, house rental, car loan, groceries, utilities bills to pay, needing food on the table, he simply has too much stress in his mind. Who is going to provide for his young family with a roof over their head and putting food on the table while trying his best to fight against Cancer. With a hole in his throat, Subramaniam cannot afford to take the risk to continue working as his works require drilling into the wall and dust will likely to enter into the hole, this will cause bacterial infection. His wife has been borrowing money from close relatives to get by and their debts are mounting higher as each day goes by. Staying at Tapah, Ipoh, he is treated at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.  Subramaniam & his wife travels frequently to Kuala Lumpur for his treatments and check-up by train staying with his relatives at Old Klang Road, KL and moves around to the hospital & train station by Grab. Lately, just before Deepavali, Subramaniam is forced to sell off his electric drill for RM200.00 to buy food for his children for their celebration. He felt very useless now and saying that he used to be able to provide for his family and now, he is very down to ‘zero’.
