Perwira K9 Malaysia

In 2004, a group of patients being treated in the K9 spinal ward, Hospital Kuala Lumpur collectively agreed that it was necessary to form a support group that focuses mainly on the well-being of fellow friends with spinal cord injury.

With continuous encouragement from the likes of rehab specialists and doctors, Perwira K9 was born shortly after. In addition to patients and ex-patients who mainly run the show, counselors, physiotherapists and nurses were also roped into the group as volunteer members to provide professional, moral and physical support whenever it is required.

OUR MISSION

To help people with Spinal Cord Injury to accept and adapt to the drastic physical change and guide them back into society and ultimately lead a meaningful life.

OUR MOTTO
When there’s a WHEEL, there’s a way!

WHAT DO WE DO
We provide mental support to the people with Spinal Cord Injury. Usually it's through social gathering either to watch football, grab a scrumptious meal or it could be anything. We organize talks, seminars, and events to increase awareness about the the physical challenges that came with the condition. Hopefully people will stop stealing our parking spots.
