My Story

The Angels Fitness Challenge is an 8 week fitness competition for charity. Angels for Orphans have enlisted some of HK’s finest, fun and fastidious fitness instructors to lead participants in weekly sessions in an aim to improve fitness levels, with the motivation of raising money for Bali Kids one of Angels for Orphans partners.

Bali Kids  provide health and dental care and education to underprivileged children, including a mobile clinic which travels around the villages to carry out health checks, and financing critical surgery (www.balikids.org)
Bali Kids are kick starting a new Anti-Smoking Education Program for children in Bali. The funds raised will cover the production, design and printing of a small booklet for kids, re the evils of smoking. Currently the children do not receive any education on smoking and it is a major killer in Indonesia. Unlike so many other countries, Indonesia still has companies sponsoring sporting events and events linked to youth. Which we know endorses this terrible habit. The government largely ignoring this problem and the health problems that this is causing it's people- some clinics are going so far as to advertise smoking as a cure to many medical conditions, including cancer, emphysema and autism. As a result, the number of smokers in Indonesia is increasing with children as young as 18 months are seen to be regularly smoking. No one else in Bali is looking to tackle this locally. So we are trying to help get this project off the ground and in the first year hope to at least educate around 5,000 children of the dangers of smoking and keep them healthy.
