Tsunami Relief Fund for Ujung Kulon National Park and WWF Indonesia is fundraising for Yayasan WWF-Indonesia

For my birthday this year (Jan. 8th!) I would love for all my loved ones to please donate what you can and/or support this fundraiser by sharing it with everyone you know. As some of you may know, I had the privilege to work in Indonesia for two months in 2017 doing conservation education in Ujung Kulon National Park, the last home of the critically endangered Javan Rhino. Recently, this same region was devastated by a Tsumani that occurred on December 24, 2018. Now the lives and livelihoods of not only the rhinos but also all the communities I met and worked with are in danger. Please donate to help them get back on their feet!

My Story

On December 24, 2018, a devastating Tsunami hit the shores of the Banten Province of Java, Indonesia. The communities affected border Ujung Kulon National Park, the last home of the critically endangered Javan Rhino. Entire communities have been destroyed, including those I worked with during my time in Indonesia back in the summer of 2017. The WWF Indonesia Headquarters have been completely leveled. This was the organization I worked with to do conservation education for children in the villages bordering the national park. The people I met here were some of the kindest and most welcoming I have ever met, but they are now in great need of help as they slowly rebuild their homes and livelihoods. These communities are near and dear to my heart and I hope to do everything I can to help them in this trying time. This is why I decided to use my birthday as a way fundraise for these communities. Instead of presents and birthday wishes, I would love for all my loved ones to donate or share this fundraiser to help this community that means so much to me. Please consider helping them, it would mean the world to me to know that my birthday served to do some good this year.
