While many are living luxuriously, do you know that not all of us have the access to education? Yes, that's right. These stateless children may not have the full education as much as we do.We, 12 motivated and passionate students from Heriot Watt University, comes together from different backgrounds, are united with a purpose to help these children to have the full education they truly deserve. We aspire to help these unfortunate children with all our might and knowledge we have gained to put them in good use for the benefit of the children. With our presence, we hope that we can make a strong yet powerful impact on these children as well as changing their lives for a better and greater future.Our main objectives are to provide aid and support for Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK). Over the past few years, Buku Jalanan Chow Kit has done such wonderful and spectacular job to educate these children with relentless effort and much care. We believe in BJCK’s vision as well as the mission in fighting for the right of every child’s education. Paws Animal Welfare Society
We are a group of students from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. We created this fundraising project intending to raise awareness on current issues regarding unwanted and stray animals. All proceeds from this fundraising event will go to PAWS Malaysia. PAWS Animal Welfare Society is a non-profit animal shelter in Petaling Jaya that receives unwanted pets and stray animals where they will vaccinate, deworm, neuter, and put up for adoption. The shelter and costs involved to run PAWS Malaysia are entirely funded by generous donations of the public and also proceeds from charitable events. DID YOU KNOW??Over 1 Million Malaysian Children Are Not In School & Other Problems With The Education System, Says Former Minister Former Education Minister and independent Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Maszlee Malik revealed that there are 2.7 million children from poor Malaysian families who don’t have enough money for school spending and that there are still hundreds of schools across the country that are in deplorable conditions.Full-hearted for FUGEE’s Future has 15 caring and supportive individuals from Heriot-Watt University who are trying to make a difference for the future of these children.The objective of our project is to ensure that more underprivileged students are given the opportunity to learn and have access to basic education, this in turn will provide them a chance for a better future. Persatuan Kebajikan Ti-Ratana, Malaysia
In Malaysia, we can always notice some children and elderly sleeping by the roadside and begging for food and drinks. This condition has not been improved after decades and those needy people are still in hard and suffering condition in order to survive. The main reason is truly the lack of action of Malaysians and the reluctance to provide help. Hence, the main objective and mission of this project is to raise public awareness, and encourage people around us to help the needy population. This project will be promoted through social media, and some interactive activities will also be held to raise awareness and spread knowledge.

We're Atlantis Initiative, a group of 16 students from Heriot Watt University Malaysia who is fundraising for MERCY Malaysia.The 1-in-50 year floods that occurred in December 2021 hit many places throughout Malaysia, particularly in the Klang Valley. Countless residents lost everything in the flood, hence we saw an urgent need and felt called to help those affected by the floods. Through this project, we aim to spread awareness about the flood situations, as well as to raise money for MERCY Malaysia which will provide long term recovery to the affected and for other humanitarian projects too. Persatuan Kebajikan Ti-Ratana, Malaysia
Let's visit our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/granting_wishes_/ The project is named “Granting wishes for Ti-Ratana”. As a charitable non-profit, Ti-Ratana has no main source of income to sustain itself. Hence, it requires aid from others to continue its establishment. On their website, there is a “wish-list” of which lists items which they would like donations of. Hence, by donating boxes full of said items, we are in a sense “granting wishes” for them. It is common knowledge that an organisation as big as Ti-Ratana would not be able to fund all the needs of the less fortunate. Hence, it has given that they will have a wish-list of things that they need but are unable to provide. Thus, we will function as the middle person to get donations from others and fulfil the items on their wish-list to the best of our extent, hence, the title "Granting Wishes for Ti-Ratana". This project will be done by using charity box to get donations or helps from the society. We will promote our project in our social media platform which is Instagram and crowdfunding using the simplygiving website. We hope that we can lend a hand to help more less fortunate people to feel the warmth. We believe that the small things we are doing can make a big difference for them.

We believe that every single child in Malaysia should have equal education opportunities, regardless of their background. This is because education has become a necessity to survive in the current world. More importantly, it also provides a way for underprivileged children to escape the vicious cycle of poverty. Therefore, we chose "Teach for Malaysia" because it is continuously working hard in creating the perfect solution for education inequity. The organisation’s movement truly resonates with us thus, we hope to work together with them to live our purpose in this community project. "As a nation, education inequity impairs our collective economic and social well-being. Our team which consist of 14 students from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is fundraising for our beneficiary Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA). We decided to fundraise for MMHA as it is something close to our heart which we can resonate well. With everyone's contribution, we hope that our fundraise would be able to ease the financial burden of our beneficiary to continue providing the help and support to the people in need especially in unprecedented times during the Covid-19 pandemic.MMHA is a non-profit voluntary organization managed by a group of elected professional which aims to promote mental health and create a greater awareness on mental wellbeing and illnesses in the community. We are here to make a difference to advocate for positive attitudes towards mental health issues in particular destigmatizing mental illness. Mental health awareness is severely under-addressed in Malaysia even though it is as important as physical health and we would like to change that moving forward. Lang Tengah Turtle Watch
Shellturforall is a team consisting of 11 like-minded & passionate students from Heriot-Watt University who all have a common aim to save sea turtles from possible extinction and to increase awareness about the importance of protecting the life of sea turtles. We are also helping to contribute for the recovery of the species, as well as promoting ocean-friendly habits and introducing ways to protect these delicate species’ habitat and marine life. Our main objective for this crowdfunding project is to raise funds for Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, a voluntary organization founded in April 2013 that is based in Terengganu, Malaysia. Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, abbreviated LTTW, has taken the initiative to confidently take the key steps towards preserving these lovely creatures to make sure that the future generations make it out to sea successfully. We aspire to help support their action of monitoring turtle landing, protecting sea turtles from poachers, conducting ocean science research, and discovering what other conservation issues lie hidden on the island. Throughout this project, we intend to organize interactive events such as talks and challenges to attract more awareness towards this cause in an exciting and engaging way. Nonetheless, Malaysian citizens until now aren’t aware while ignoring the importance and the increasing amount of poor adolescence issues. Hence, the project aims to intensify the public regarding adolescent issues while supporting them to act in this nationwide problem.

1 in 3 Malaysians Have mental health issues, with highest prevalence among those aged 16-19 years and those from low-income families according to a press statement made by the Minister of Health Malaysia is one of three remaining ASEAN countries that still criminalize suicide. A total of 1,081 suicide attempts in Malaysia were recorded in 2020 alone. In 2017, there were only 360 registered psychiatrists for both the country’s public and private sectors.We, a group of 16 students from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia are keen on helping various people silently suffering from mental challenges, who do not have the financial ability to help themselves. This project focused on crowdfunding for the Malaysia Mental Health Association (MMHA) which is to pursue social awareness, inclusive legislation and greater accessibility to mental health services for all. Founded in 2003, Agathians Shelter is a welfare home sheltering 40 boys who are either orphaned, abandoned or from broken homes between the ages 5-20 years old.They provide a home, education, food, curriculum activities and other basic needs. In addition, they provide family-based counselling, play therapy and community services to further support the boys.We believe that no child should feel afraid for their security in accessing education, arts, food, shelter, and care. We want to help these boys know that they are seen, cared for, and our top priority. Thank you for being here, their success is yours too.The funds go directly to the Agathians shelter to support specific aspects; Meals, groceries, utility bills, school fees, books, learning equipment, household items and toys."Our mission is to save the children from the streets. We are a team of 15 dedicated students from Heriot-Watt University who have gathered over our mutual love for the environment and all its inhabitants, flora and fauna alike.We hope to save our fellow sea friends, the turtles from extinction. We are concerned of their declining population, hence, we've dedicated ourselves to this project so we can save them by raising the funds needed to purchase and incubate the turtle eggs. These turtles eggs are taken care of until the baby turtles have hatched and can be safely released back to their home in the sea.
