Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations to sponsor me. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to my charity. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join me and get involved yourself! On the 5th and 6th of July 2014, me and my friends are donating 10 hours over to course of our weekend to fix up the place. The things we are doing ranges from landscaping the gardens to teaching the children there. We want to do this for Calvary Land because we know very well they lack the manpower to fix up the place themselves. Thus, in our goal to impact society in anyway possible, we have pledged to offer our time in exchange for the good feeling of accomplishment after our job have been finished. A brief introduction of CalvaryLand: CALVARYLAND is a social care centre affiliated with the Assemblies of God Malaysia. Please dig deep and donate, every little cent counts! Jonathan Choo

****************** LATEST UPDATE (18 Sept, Tues) ****************** Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!!!! Back on me feet now, juz want to say a Big Thank You for ALL your well wishes, appreciate them ALL!!!!! What more can I say about this TMBT after a gruelling 24hrs 13 mins of pure adversity, ?? Almost everything is TMBT, the organisers, volunteers, scenery, meeting new and present running friends, and seeeing the smiling faces on the local people young n old. This is certainly The Most Beautiful Thing race I've done. A grateful thanks and appreciation to all those who donated to this cause. And if you'd like to donate via simplygiving.com, it's still not too late. My fundraising page is open to accept donations til 14 Nov 2012. ************************************************************************* I'm a optometrist, living in Melaka, operating my own business, helping some vision-impaired folks see better. I became interested in running for fun some 2 years ago. I then took part in the 2010 StanChart KL Marathon, running the half marathon. While admiring the full-marathoners lining up, I resolved to be part of the pack, one day! A brief 5 months later, and I was there! I ran the full Penang Bridge International Marathon and completed, injury-free, in 4 hours 37 minutes. The bug had caught on, and in a big way! I moved on to the ultra marathons that can stretch over 100 km. My first ultra of 100km was the 2011 Singapore Sundown that I completed in 17 hours 10 minutes. It was the beginning of a whole new ball game. Reading running blogs and hanging out with other runners have been keeping this 'ultra' passion fueled! My dream? To qualify for the Ultratrail du Mont Blanc (UTMB). With this in mind, I've been running ultras to try to make the points to qualify. To date, I've run in the 2012 HK100 Vibrams Ultra Marathon. My next run would be in "The Most Beautiful Thing (TMBT) Sabah Ultra Marathon 2012". This 100km race will be held on 15 September (Sat), over the beautiful Crocker Range of the Kinabalu Highlands. Besides running in this race as a personal challenge, I want to run to raise funds for a cause I believe in. As I run in TMBT Sabah Ultra Marathon, I'm also targeting to raise RM3000 for Calvaryland - a non-profit integrated social care centre that reaches out to help the needy and the marginsalized in our community. Your kind contribution is greatly appreciated. Please dig deep and donate...every little contribution counts. You can make a difference in many lives...Thanks heaps! Paul Lee

WHAT IS SILENT SUPPORT? We are a group of secondary school students who have decided to make a stand. We will spread a message of charity, a message of hope. We will tell the world that there are people in need, people who are suffering, and people whose only sustenance is the love of those around them. And we will do this without saying a word. For the next two weeks, we will tape our mouths shut during our recess periods to try and raise funds for CalvaryLand, a social welfare centre where older adults, children and women in crisis are cared for and given a fresh start in life. We are trying to raise awareness for this organization, as well as collect RM 1500 for the benefit of CalvaryLand. Thank you so much for your support and donations! EVENT DETAILS Date : 7-10th August, 13-17th August Place : SMK Subang Utama, SS 18/1A, Subang Jaya, Selangor What's Going To Happen : We're going to go into the canteen, tape our mouths, and let the confusion begin! There will definitely be questions about why we are doing this, as well as a bit of ridicule and laughter. Good. Drawing attention to the plight of those less fortunate than us is our goal, and hopefully we can move some people to donate through Simply Giving. QUESTIONS YOU MAY WANT TO ASK "But why tape your mouths shut? Why not a simple vow of silence?" - Because as great as a vow of silence is, we feel that it's not noticeable enough. Sometimes you need an obvious, direct method of attracting attention, and we believe that this is one of those times. - Because the act of taping our mouths shut symbolizes the struggle of some people to have their voices heard, to be noticed in society. Sometimes we close our eyes and pretend that these people don't exist. A vow of silence is a voluntary act, whereas having your mouth taped shut usually connotes an involuntary silence. "Why do it during recess? Why not the entire school day?" - As much as we want to raise awareness, there are certain limits. To deliberately prevent yourself from talking during class, where interaction between teachers and students is extremely important, would be disrespectful of both the teachers and the education system, and we do not wish to offend anyone. - Recess time is much more personal for each student. It is where a student relaxes, has a bite to eat and something to drink, where he/she winds down and starts to socialize with their friends. It is the time most of us look forward to every day in school. By sacrificing something so important to us, we hope to send the message as effectively as possible. "Can I join? Do I have to be a student of SMK Subang Utama?" - Unfortunately, to take part in our current project in SMK Subang Utama, you have to be a student here. If you are, you are very welcome to join. Just send me an e-mail containing your name and class at [email protected]. Parental consent is a must, though! - If you're not a student of SMK Subang Utama, but you are interested in starting this project in your own school, I'd be happy to help! Just send me an e-mail and I'd be happy to assist you in any way I can.

Dear friends, Thank you for visiting my fund-raising page. Hiking mountains has always been a personal passion, both for health and recreational, personally and with friends. Coming 8th September 2012, I will be embarking on a 7-day climb up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The height of this mountain is 5895 metres. The organization for the fund-raising project I have in mind is Calvaryland. Calvaryland requires a van to transport its residents (elderly folks) to the hospital for their medical check-ups and consultation. This van will also be used to transport children to school, educational trips and outings that facilitate their development skills. With fund-raising via simplygiving.com, your giving and donation is safe and secure. No part of the proceeds will reach me nor to sponsor my trip. All proceeds of your support and donation will be channeled directly to Calvaryland. With this platform of simplygiving.com, donations are simple and cost efficient. My page will allow you to follow my progress. You could share your encouragements here to me and to others. You can even join me and get involve yourself. Do share my page with your family and friends. My team, Team DUNAMIS, our goal is to raise RM100,000. My personal goal is RM50,000. The amount is to buy one unit of the Nissan Urvan Microbus with a seating capacity of 14. We are also looking into fitting motorized equipment to handle the wheelchairs in and out of the van. Fund-raising begins with the heart. Fund-raising also begins at home. Calvaryland is home to some. Should you feel like giving, even a small amount, it is a start and a little will go a long way. I am not asking the funds for me, but for fellow friends in Calvaryland, so that the life they have will be a little bit better. Wouldn't you want your life to be a little bit better? Thank you for your time. God bless! Michael Soong PS: Click the DONATE NOW button to donate today, or you can return to this page again another day.
