About Appeal

Our mission of championing animal welfare started in the 1800s when a group of animal lovers endeavored to provide community animals with protection from cruelty. In the 1940s, the rebirth of RSPCA, as we were known then, began in a residential area in Tomlinson Road, before setting up formally in the 1950s in Orchard Road. In 1984, SPCA moved to the premises at Mount Vernon, which has been our home for the past 31 years. Through our adoption programme, more than 30,000 animals have found homes. Our sterilisation voucher programme has provided free sterilisations for community animals, resulting in a marked decreased in their numbers today. The SPCA is about to embark on a new chapter with its move to the premises at Sungei Tengah. We envision the facility to be a sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. With an expanded veterinary clinic, we plan to focus on care and rehabilitation for animals in need.
