YOU CAN HELP MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE & CONTRIBUTE TO A THRIVING ARTS COMMUNITY IN SINGAPORE!

Help young dance artists achieve their dreams by making a generous donation to the arts. Many dancers face real hardships because of the unique demands of their chosen career. Professionals in the fine art of dance bring the Singapore community, much valuable aesthetic benefits such as:
  • The chance to experience inspirational, live dance performance in a theatrical setting
  • The opportunity to see conceptual ideas presented in perceptual form (i.e. dance) so that they may be perceived as concrete, first-hand experiences
  • The joy of seeing the beauty of the trained human body in motion
  • The chance to reflect on human sensibilities portrayed through the language of art
  • The intellectual challenge of following and understanding a choreographer's intention as presented through dance
However, dance professionals are often overlooked by funders and sponsors. It is in the nature of dance that the beauty and ease that a professional dancer exudes on stage often masks the important and serious needs that these young artists have and the difficult lives they lead. Underpaid, overworked and highly driven, dancers bear serious hardships during their professional careers. 

Your generous gift can go a long way to making the dream of these young artists come true. Dancers feed the spiritual need of the community for direct experience with fine art - your support will make it possible for them to succeed.

John Mead Dance Company (JMDC) has been providing career opportunities for dancers in the Singapore community consistently for the past 10 years. To continue with this mission, JMDC needs to raise $10,000 to sustain the young dance artists who will be working with us in our upcoming performance titled "INFINITE", which takes place at the SOTA Studio Theatre, 24 & 25 March, 2017. 

  • Every $50 donation helps directly impact the lives of individual dance artists by helping them to sustain their difficult lives as artists - e.g. to afford nutritious meals to meet the physical demands of their discipline; to acquire the tools of their trade - i.e. dance footwear and other necessary dance attire; to attend to their overall physical health; and to deal with dance-related injuries through medical attention and physical therapy when needed; etc.
  • Every $100 helps individual dance artists attend the necessary daily dance technique and performance training classes they need in order to maintain their abilities as performing artists.
  • Every $200 helps to support our production costs - i.e. costuming,  lighting and sound production.
  • Every $300 helps JMDC bring dance and the healing power of art to the community, including the underserved, and special needs populations in Singapore
  • Every $400 helps bring to reality our ability to perform in publicly accessible performance spaces that are safe for our dancers and offer audience benefits for our patrons in the community.
  • Every $500 helps the creation of new choreographic work on which our dancers depend as the primary vehicle for their artistic expression as performing dance artists.
