The John Mead Dance Company (JMDC) is recognized for its outstanding concert dance performances. Since its incorporation in 2005 by Co-Founders John Mead and Ms. Lim Mei Chian, the Singapore-based, professional dance company has produced highly acclaimed professional dance productions at the Drama Centre Theatre and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay. The company’s Artistic Director, Mr.John Mead, is an internationally-recognized choreographer, who was honored with 1st place in the Chorégraphe Nouveau Lausanne choreography competition hosted by the Bejart Ballet Lausanne, Switzerland. John brings a vast experience from his international professional work with major ballet and contemporary companies in countries such as Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United States. The company’s co-director, Ms. Lim is an established dancer, dance educator and choreographer in Singapore who has performed and taught in the United States, Europe and Asia. JMDC is currently recognized as an “Institution of Public Character” (IPC) by the Singapore government for the artistic outreach it does in the community. Under the co-direction of Mr. Mead and Ms. Lim, and featuring an all-Singaporean cast of professional dancers, JMDC strives to bring high quality, artistic dance entertainment to the Asian region and beyond.
