Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society

Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society is an NGO which advocates environmental conservation and awareness on wetland ecosystems found in Sabah. The core functions of the society are clearly defined within the three objectives of the society, which serves to guide our actions, to achieve the vision of the society. These objectives are;

1. To promote the conservation of wetlands in Sabah and the variety of plants, birds and other kinds of living organisms found in them.
2. To raise public awareness and appreciation of the wetlands and public involvement in protecting wetlands.
3. To manage Kota Kinabalu Wetland Ramsar Site  as a model wetland centre for the purpose of conservation, education, recreation, tourism and research. Guided by its objectives, operations at the centre is focused on creating awareness and support from the general public on the importance of mangroves (and other wetland ecosystems), through conservation, education, recreation, eco-tourism and research activities.
